Eligibility
Applicants must be 21 years or older at the time of the cohort.
Priority: Canada-based artists. One (1) additional spot may be opened to an international artist for this cohort
Emerging & mid-career across visual arts, film, writing, dance, sound, and interdisciplinary practices.
Applicants should demonstrate an active and committed practice, with a coherent body of work

Maré Do Sol
Maré Do Sol is a creative platform that brings artists together in small cohorts within coastal environments, supporting the expansion of their practices through immersive workshops, collective activities, and dedicated studio time. It focuses on artistic exchange, process, and connection to place, particularly within coastal landscapes.
Casa Na ilha Residency:
Casa na Ilha is an independent artist residency space located in Ilhabela, Brazil. It provides a setting for artistic practice, reflection, and immersion in the island’s natural and cultural environment. The space supports both independent and facilitated programs, welcoming artists through self-directed residencies as well as curated cohorts and collaborative initiatives.
Maré do Sol invites artists to apply for a creative cohort at Casa na Ilha residency in Ilhabela, Brazil this Fall (September 30 – October 14, 2026).
This cohort brings together a small group of 6 artists working across disciplines to engage in workshops, collective exchange, and studio-based practice.
