Call for Musician/Composer
Glitch Theatre
This work takes place in Vancouver, BC, on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
Glitch Theatre is seeking a Composer/Musician for our upcoming Arc One project.
Arc One brings together 10 new and emerging D/disability-identified artists for an evening of short (5 to 7 minutes) original performances ranging from prose and poetry to stories and essays.
The Composer/Musician, as the title suggests, will compose original music and sound to accompany each piece, creating a unique sonic atmosphere for each of the 10 pieces, and play their music live onstage with the performers at the Roundhouse Performance Centre in Vancouver, BC on May 23, 2026.
The event will be recorded live and released as a podcast series later this year.
The ideal candidate will have (or be in the process of attaining) a degree in Music (BMus, BA, BFA, MMus) or 5+ years of professional music experience. They should also have experience working with dramatic text, and be able to play their compositions live onstage.
The Composer/Musician will consult with each of the creators as they generate a score/soundscape to support each piece. Multi-instrumentalists and those with sound design experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Artists who identify with D/disability will be prioritized for this position, but all are welcome to apply.
