(CASTING CALL NOTICE (June 2022)

The After/BAAL project is looking to cast a musician/actor for a main role in an upcoming Toronto based workshop of After/BAAL, a new play by Rose Cullis, with songs by Astrid Van Wieren, directed by Jon Michaelson, designed by Denyse Karn.

Following a March 2022 developmental workshop undertaken as part of a Banff Centre Performance Arts Creation Lab, with Astrid Van Wieren (Come From Away), Parmida Vand (PATER), and Jack Nicholsen (Leslie Spit Treeo & Regal Road), we're searching for someone to play the role of BRENDA: 35-40+ age range.

Brenda is a big-hearted, sly-humored, grounded and loyal queer woman who's the romantic partner of the singer-songwriter Baal. The actor/musician we're looking for should be able to play (rock n' roll) guitar, and/or keyboards.

CAEA/ACTRA members will be engaged on an Equity contract basis for a developmental workshop scheduled for 13 days in January 2023. (eg. Jan 10-23, in a RH studio in downtown Toronto, culminating in a public showcase presentation in a theatre.)
