JOB OVERVIEW
Title: Executive Director, Operations & Development
Reports to: Board of Directors & works collaboratively with Artistic Directors & Executive Director, Finance & Personnel
Hours: Full-Time, with flexible hours
Location: Remote work, candidate must be based in the Metro Vancouver area or willing to move to Metro Vancouver.
Remuneration: Annual Salary of $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience + 3 weeks vacation.
Start Date: As soon as possible
JOB DESCRIPTION
Now in its fifth year of operations, re:Naissance Opera is seeking its first Executive Director: Operations & Development to oversee the day-to-day operations, administration and growth of the company and its many artistic productions. The new Executive Director: Operations & Development will work collaboratively with the Artistic Directors and the Executive Director of Finance & Personnel on all major upcoming projects, including creating our new strategic plan; updating our Operations manual and employee handbook; establishing charitable status for the organization; administration and development for our annual festival, #IndieFest and our 2022-23 performance season.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Production Support
- Collaborate with leadership team on budget creation and management.
- Liaise between artists and other departments.
- Attend production meetings and represent AD/the interests of reN.
Live Event Management
- Provide on-site management and production support for all live events (Includes managing box office, volunteers)
OPERATIONS/ADMINISTRATION
General Operations
- Oversee operations of the following departments: administration, marketing, and production.
- Develop team workflows and better use of available tools (especially project management tools such as: Asana & Google Workplace).
- Maintain G-Suite and Shared Drives.
- Review general database management: contact lists for staff, contractors, vendors, donors.
- Build communication guidelines that are reflective of the company vision, mission and mandate.
- Formalise standard operating procedures.
Personnel Management.
- Support Associate AD in drafting contractor agreements.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of Personnel manual and policies with the leadership team and outside consultants.
- Onboarding new staff and contractors.
DEVELOPMENT
- Manage grant tracking calendar; tracks all opportunities and deadlines for the organisation and its activities.
- Implement CRM for donor tracking and management.
- Oversee community partnerships as developed by Community Liaison.
- Support the AD in identifying new and unique opportunities for funding.
- Write grants and oversee external grant writers.
- Create project budgets and strategic funding plans.
- Collaborate with leadership team on identifying and soliciting corporate sponsorships.
- Liaise with funders to provide updates on current projects and upcoming work.
