Production Description:
Once upon a time in a far away land…A prince is cursed by a powerful spell that can only be broken by true love. A young woman searches for meaning in books and independence from the expectations of her provincial life. And a castle full of enchanted objects dream of becoming human again. Under the glow of a magical rose, can Belle and the Beast learn to love and be loved in return before the last petal falls?

As provided for in 8:06 (V) of the Canadian Theatre Agreement, we will accept self-tapes or arrange for video conferencing to accommodate an Actor who is unable to attend in person.
We recognize that many artists submitted videos for the production in 2020, so please feel free to include your original self-tape as part of your submission.

Due to the number of submissions, we receive for each show, please ensure that you are following the specified guidelines below. If you have any barriers to access with our process as laid out, please reach out and let us know.
Please send a recent headshot & resume in ONE PDF file, labelled with your full name to Christine Leroux, Producer at auditions@... [auditions AT wctlive DOT ca].
Please write “Beauty – Submission – FULL NAME” in the subject line of your email. In the body of the email, please specify the following:
- where you are currently located
- if you are a CAEA member
- indicate up to two (2) roles that you would like to be seen for
- Your availability on the audition dates
Please note that in-person audition dates are subject to change depending on creative team schedules.
Please note, that all artists engaged for Beauty and the Beast are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least two weeks prior to the start of their engagement, and WCT reserves the right to require proof of vaccination upon request. In application of this policy, WCT will accommodate individuals on bona fide medical, religious, or human rights grounds, following receipt of a written request.
All audition spaces in Kamloops are accessible, by either ground level access or an elevator. Accessible washrooms are located in all spaces. Uneven ground may be present in the walkways up to the entrance doors.
Our performances spaces are all accessible, though smaller doorways may prove to be an access barrier for some mobility aids.
For auditions taking place outside of Kamloops, we will endeavour to choose locations that are fully accessible. If we are unable to do so, accessibility details will be shared prior to the audition dates.
