We are looking to meet an expanded network of creative artists, both emerging and established, for future developmental workshops and productions. We are particularly keen to develop relationships with artists who identify as Indigenous, Culturally diverse, and/or LGBTQIA2S+ .
Storyline:
STARWALKER follows a young Indigi-Queer Two-Spirit drag queen named Starwalker as they learn the ropes of the Drag community in East Van. When Starwalker is introduced to Drag at the House of Borealis, their whole world changes, introducing them to a home they never knew they needed. When Starwalker creates a new persona that blends their grounded cultural spirit with drag performance, the result is an empowering and celebratory experience that only tearing down the patriarchy can provide. STARWALKER is a love story, facing issues of identity, strength, and resilience.
STARWALKER was originally commissioned by The Musical Stage Company through The Aubrey & Marla Dan Fund for New Musicals, and is currently being co-developed by Urban Ink, Raven Theatre, and The Musical Stage Company.
