Jim Fingal is a fresh-out-of-Harvard literary fact checker for a prominent New York magazine. Jim is smart, confident, somewhat cocky, meticulous and in relentless pursuit of facts.

Submission deadline: Friday October 27th 5pm

Auditions to be by appointment: November 4th 10am-5pm

Must be available for Rehearsals and production dates

Production will be a CAEA Agreement – Indie 2.2

Rehearsals: flexible schedule to start end of March/early April 2024

Run of play: May 1st-12th 2024 at Studio 16

Synopsis:

THE STORY Based on the book by John D’Agata and Jim Fingal.

Jim Fingal is a recent Harvard grad with a recent job at a prestigious but sinking New York magazine. John D’Agata is a talented writer with a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenage boy—an essay that could save the magazine from collapse. When Jim is assigned to fact check D’Agata’s essay, the two come head to head in a comedic yet gripping battle over facts versus truth in journalism.
