Context: St. Andrew's-Wesley is an LGBT2Q+ affirming church located in the heart of Vancouver that has been a home church for Rainbow Refugee for the last ten years and that centers its programming around three unexpected pillars: Spirit, Art, and Social Justice. Having just completed a complete seismic-upgrade renovation, St. Andrew's-Wesley is investing in a new community-centered website that underlines the organization's promise that, "No matter who you are, no matter who you love, all of you is welcome here." We at Harc Creative have been hired to facilitate community engagement, reframe the organization's brand, and produce the website itself.
Call: We are looking for artists to participate as models in difference scenarios around the church to be used as photos for the website. During the 4 hour shoot we will be asking models to pose inside and outside of the church. All activities will ensure that all participants are comfortable with the provincial health orders and accommodations will be made to ensure comfort and safety of all participants.
Reconciliation Statement: Let's be honest; as a church, St. Andrew's-Wesley has a lot of unlearning to do. Through consistent decolonial community programming, direct financial contributions to indigenous-led initiatives, and producing creative artwork interventions throughout the year, St. Andrew's-Wesley is committed to the ongoing process of deepening symbiotic relationships with the lands, waters, nations, stories and spiritual processes that came before.
Date of Shoot: February 6th 9:30am-1:00pm
Fee: $50/hour for 4 hours ($200 total)
Submission: Please send an email to [email protected] if you are interested to be considered as a model for the session.
