CONTRACT DRAMA AND PERFORMING ARTS INSTRUCTOR
for Arts Programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate drama, and musical theatre classes that are
inspiring, accessible and adaptable to a range of participants in a group setting
Provide a safe, positive and well-managed learning environment
Instruct lessons for all ages and abilities
Communicate with parents, participants and staff in an effective and respectful manner
Maintain the safety of the participants in the classes
Ensure classroom administration procedures are followed
Ensure appropriate set-up, take down and maintenance of program space
Contribute to and uphold the Arts Program’s reputation for consistent high-quality arts education
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Post secondary degree or diploma in Theatre, Dance, Performing Arts, Musical Theatre and/or an
equivalent combination of education and teaching experience within an arts education setting
Proven ability to develop lessons plans, manage a classroom and deliver programs
Experience and understanding of a cooperative, shared studio space
Excellent supervisory and organizational skills
Must successfully clear a Police Information Check
HOURS OF WORK AND REMUNERATION
Classes scheduled based on instructor and facility availability
Fall 2026 season programming with opportunities for additional hours
2026/27 Artist Instructor rates $35-40 per hour based on qualifications.
