The Winter Show is a one act play staged outdoors, in various locations on the property, with horse-drawn sleighs transporting audience members from scene to scene. Now in its 35th year, it has become a seasonal tradition for thousands of families across the country.
Caravan Farm Theatre is the theatre artists’ country home. At Caravan Farm Theatre we value community, belonging and collaboration, and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, equitable environment. We seek to reflect the diversity of our community and our country in our work, both onstage and off, and we encourage applications from equity-seeking groups, including those who identify as Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, Transgender, Nonbinary, Queer, Disabled and intersections of those identities.
In addition to the DOT weekly rates we provide room (a cabin in the woods) and board (excellent prepared meals served in “the cookshack”, the gathering place and social hub). We work a five day week for our rehearsal period. Children are welcome to be in residence with their families. Company members participate in some weekly communal activities such as dish duty, so a willingness to live in a rustic environment, (wood heat, most days spent outdoors) in a semi communal way, is vital.
