Black Fruit Press is thrilled to announce the inaugural Black Fruit Poetry Workshop! This is a FREE weeklong creative space where talented 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC poets can explore and develop their craft, together. The workshop runs from May 13 - 17 at University College, University of Toronto.
Starting on May 13, participants will meet for five days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The goal is to provide constructive feedback while building a writing community. Copies of the poems up for discussion will be provided in advance. With the help of writing prompts, share & tells, readings, and in-depth class discussions, facilitator Kahsenniyo and guest speaker George Elliot Clarke will help nurture a creative space within this small group format. There will be an hour break for lunch, which is provided. We will also be publishing a small zine of selected poems from the workshop.
The submission deadline for applications is May 1, and spots are limited. Let your community know about this fantastic opportunity. Visit us at blackfruitpress.org today!
