Acting Role for Community Telling of Pawâkan Macbeth

Akpik Theatre is creating an open call for TWO Indigenous multi-character roles; one female identifying, and one older identifying performer for the Community Telling of Pawâkan. This is in preparation for the upcoming East Coast and Northwest Territories tour. The performers must be available for the entire run of the tour starting September 10th, 2023 until October 31st, 2023.
Audition date begins March 13th, 2023 via self-tape with a scheduled zoom or in-person callback.

All recordings will be kept confidential until casting is complete whereas all submissions will then be deleted.
General Audition Information:
This is a multiple character role that requires the performers to be adaptable, curious and courageous. Storytelling experience is appreciated but not necessary.
Please prepare:
- a brief introduction of who you are, where you are based, and community affiliation
- an off-book monologue from Shakespeare's Macbeth
- an oral storytelling of your choosing, can be true or part of a cosmology (max 3 min)
