ABOUT ARRIVALS LEGACY PROJECT
The Arrivals Legacy Project was founded by Diane Roberts 18 years ago to create space for cross-cultural and international collaboration between artists. The project offers workshops and residencies for the purposes of seeding and developing new creative works using a methodological approach based in African and Indigenous ways of knowing.
ABOUT SEEDPOOL
SeedPool is a digital platform that was developed through the work of the Arrivals Legacy Project to provide a virtual studio space where artists, seekers, ancestors, healers, and activists could meet to exchange ideas, creative processes and their stories.
YOUR ROLE
We are looking to fill the position of Project Manager for the SeedPool project. The Project Manager will oversee all project elements including timelines, budgets, communications, and fund development support. You will be entering the project at a pivotal point where we will be building on the prototype of the SeedPool virtual studio and bringing artists and community contributors together to consult, discuss, and guide the project and its development. This role will ensure that artists, stakeholders, contractors, and community members are communicated with and that the project team is kept on task and informed about the work of other team members.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO:
- Set regular meetings for the core project team, stakeholders, advisors, and other project participants
- Send calendar invites and reminders
- Set agendas
- Chair meetings and take minutes
- Send out actions and minutes
- Create project timelines, with the team’s support, for the full project lifecycle
- Manage project timelines
- Create, manage, and update project budgets
- Tracking project spending vs. budgets
- Collaborate on fund development (fundraising, grant writing support as needed)
- Manage communications:
- Internal communications to the team, participants, and stakeholders
- External communications in the form of:
- E-Blasts
- Social Media
- Website Updates
- Create graphics and design collateral for communications and social media posts
- Attend weekly meetings with the Artistic Director and/or Project Leadership
- Provide regular project reports and updates to the team
- Support the project team as needed with administrative and project needs
- Board support as needed in conjunction with the Artistic Director
YOU ARE:
- A highly organized person who loves planning and tracking
- Detail oriented with an eye for specifics especially numbers for budgets and copy edits for communications
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the arts, decolonial practices and supporting intersectionality in inclusive spaces
- A direct communicator with a critical lens to ensure that the project not only stays on time, task, and in budget, but also maintains our goals and mandate
- Comfortable enough with math to manage budgets and numbers in spreadsheets
- A strong and clear communicator (verbal and written)
- Able to lead a team, take direction, and delegate and know when each are necessary
- A strong writer, grant writer, and/or fundraiser - any or all of the three!
- Bilingual (an asset not a requirement)
YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS OR ARE WILLING TO LEARN:
- Project management experience is preferable, but we will train the right person if needed
- Financial administration, bookkeeping, or budgeting skills and experience
- Communications (E-Blasts, social media)
- Adobe Creative Suite or other design software
- Digital Marketing
- Grant writing
- Comfort with digital meetings and collaboration including the use of:
- G-Suite
- MailChimp
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Monday, Trello, or Asana
- Slack
- Social Media Platforms
- Zoom
- Chairing meetings and writing minutes
