Operations Assistant

This is a fully remote position available to anyone living in British Columbia.
Arts BC has traditionally operated with a small team. We are creating this new position to strengthen our administrative capacity and provide consistent support across our programs, services, and events.
The Operations Assistant supports the day-to-day administrative work that helps Arts BC serve BC’s arts and culture sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work, is comfortable working across different types of administrative tasks, and likes finding practical ways to keep things moving.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and working in collaboration with the Arts BC team, the Operations Assistant will provide administrative support across event and program coordination, member services, data and information management, systems maintenance, basic financial administration, and special projects.
- The position is fully remote.
- This is not a supervisory position and does not require staff oversight or independent program management.
GENERAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
This role draws on a combination of administrative experience, familiarity with the arts and culture sector, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
We’re looking for someone who brings the following skills, experience, and ways of working:
- Has worked in one or more remote administrative positions (at least 1 year full-time, or equivalent;
- Has provided administrative and logistical support for live in-person and virtual events (at least 2 years full-time, or equivalent);
- Has provided general administrative support across one or more organizations (at least 2 years full-time, or equivalent);
- Has direct experience working in the arts, culture, or heritage sector (at least 2 years full-time, or equivalent);
- Values clear information, thoughtful processes, and accurate work; and
- Is eager to apply their resourcefulness and ability to transfer existing knowledge and skills to new scenarios and contexts.
