The Coven is a magical realist play spanning generations. In 1800s Guyana, Renette, the first free woman in her family, seeks vengeance but unknowingly curses her own bloodline. In modern Canada, teenager Thea faces the curse’s return. Past and present blur as The Shadow haunts them, forcing the family to confront trauma and embrace healing.

Join the workshop led by playwright Shanice Pereira and movement director Micah Jondel DeShazer to explore the text and culminate in a dramatized reading at LabO in Ottawa on May 9–10. Auditions are on February 20 at Arts Court (in-person/virtual). Preference for BIPOC actors.
